Why the new DI? The new actress completely lacks the talent and the charm that LP brought to the show.

When the BBC decided to bring it back Lucy Punch was filming over in America, so they brought in Miranda Raison instead. I don't think she is too bad.

I agree. The new pairing has absolutely no screen chemistry, unlike the first series when the relationship between Toby Stephens and Lucy Punch really crackled. However, watched episode 3 of the new series last night, and there seems to be just the faint glimmer of chemistry beginning to develop. Let's hope it continues.
shareSeason 1 was great - no one cared about the mission, they just had fun and we enjoyed the dynamic.
Season 2 - I fell asleep 3 times during episode 1... It's like they actually tried to solve a mystery. Who wants work? This was starting to feel like the British Brooklyn 9-9 - but now it's just another boring crime drama with some comic relief...
The new actress grew on me after a couple episodes but I do miss Lucy
