Awful

Went searching for more brit, aussie shows...just watched this and didnt even make it through season1 ep2!! They had to cancel it!! Insulting my intelligence. I'm embarassed for them. Stephen's timing way off. His "rougeish" smirk, dated and fake...he is not comfortable in this role...i hate it when i know actors are acting!! No wonder Lucy Punch, a likeable actress, left. It was clear it would crash n burn! Her acting here was forced and that troll that played her husband? C'mon! Where was the cop part of it? Not believable Lucy's character would just move her sofa over a blood soaked carpet? I'm sure that sent her runninng!
I know i'm couple years late on weighing in on this show, but i had to after reading those rediculous "rave reviews." Have to wonder if the writer's mother wrote them!
Don't revive thos show, EVER!! Stephens please get some actimg lessons under your belt...have you no life experiences you can draw on? Lose that insipid flirty smirk you have perfected, does not work!

Mehki_Girl - you're not making sense. What are you trying to say?

So far, I agree with the OP - started watching ep1 (again - I had watched part of it a couple of weeks ago but it made so little impression on me that i had to rewatch it from the start). Not loving it at all - and I am usually a HUUUUGE fan of British TV!

Oh well, nobody's forcing me to watch so will give it a bit longer and if I still don't like it, there's plenty more fish in the sea :-)

Since we're both late catching this show I'll reply. I think it's a decent, offbeat show. I usually recommend people watch more than one episode of any show to allow time for both actors and writers to find their pace. I always do that because if I went with just s1e1 of shows I would've never become a fan of great shows like Star Trek TNG, Breaking Bad, Blackadder, Parks and Rec, and the Big Bang Theory to name just a few. I won't recommend this to you for Vexed because you don't like the lead actor nor his character. But please do, in the future, keep this "rule" in mind. Geez, even Firefly's first aired episode was their weakest and we know how great that series was.
