Smoking and drinking?

The synopsis for episode 10 of Kill Arman talks about how a "smoking, drinking, overweight party animal...gave up all life's pleasures... to be trained into a warrior". So during a couple of episodes, particularly the one in South Korea where things don't go quite according to plan, we see Arman knocking back some big glasses of beer and with a large cigar in his mouth. So much for giving up all life's pleasures. Still, I guess it does show he's an "average man."
