SPOILER sorta

Okay, in the scene where Nicole Kidman's character first meets Ward and Yardley, Ward's arm is bleeding. It seems like it could just be from moving, but I think I should read into it more... He says "how did I do that?" when he notices it...

So do you think he did it to himself? It isn't explained...

I believe it is foreshadowing. Ward and Yardley were moving a heavy metal file cabinet then seemed to be relaxing in the garage. Ward, oblivious to his lacerated and bleeding arm goes to shake hands with Charlotte. Later we see Ward seemingly enjoying being bled again in the company of black men.
