Michael was with Selene when she was captured. He is thought dead during the movie, but at the end, Selene discovers him frozen (Han Solo's style). She has no time to save him, so she just breaks the machine that maintains him frozen. The last scene of the movie is her going back for him, only to realize he already escaped by himself.
