she is a daughter. i assume that they must have harvested the embryo and allowed it to grow in a test tube or something. atleast it's one ideal. i doubt we'll ever know.

I had wondered if they kept Selene in more of a medically-induced coma rather than a deep freaze (like what the one guy was doing on THE BLACKLIST) and once Eve was born (via C-section, if I had to guess), they put Selene into the deep freaze. It would explain why Eve felt her mother was still alive (she'd heard a heartbeat for nine months) on some level and it would also have been a safer option for Antigen getting their little hybrid baby than trying to use some mechanical/artificial womb.

^ This. She was mostly likely kept in a coma. The humans obviously wanted to study them because Michael was a hybrid and Selene was enhanced by Corvinus' blood. Upon examining her, they discovered that she was pregnant, so they kept her in a coma until she gave birth. After having learned what they could have from them for the time being, they froze them both, keeping them alive in case they needed them for later, and focused on Eve.
