She literally abuses and defies EVERY white person she meets or is owned by.
I get the proud Black woman thing but her behaviour is far too over the top to be realistic.
I think the point is that she is African and she was not born into the system. Georgia even makes a point of saying 'these wild Africans' because they HAVE known different, deference does not come easily to people who are used to being free, who have a heritage and a sense of pride.
Think how different their experiences are to people whose grandparents were slaves and you would be able to compare their attitudes. Those raised from birth to expect freedom will behave vastly different than those born into servitude.
