I'm getting this soon, and I have a question....

I loved Fable II, and one of the best parts is that your character would change as you progressed. But from a review I read, it seems like this is not the case with Fable III. I know your weapons transform, but I'd hate to think they'd removed personal transformation completely. Is this the case?

The game is certainly a few steps backward from Fable II.
They have "simplified" everything too much, it's basicly Fable for dummies now.

There are some minor character changes whether you are evil or good and you can still pick up scars from being knocked out.
But they have removed a HELL of a lot of what made Fable II so good.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he is God.

Well thats disappointing. Would you still recommend it? I think I bruised a testicle capturing that last pawn!PSN I.D:Lor20 Gamertag:Nero Faraday

The game is still very entertaining even though your character doesn't change all too much (at least for the female anyway. She'll still get plenty tall if you invest enough in skill).

If you can get it cheap or 2nd hand, get it.
But for full price, I don't think it's worth it.

As I say, they have removed a lot of what made Fable II good just to make the game more "accesable".
I was left dissapointed with the game.

I got the game as soon as it came out, and was very disappointed. Not only did it seem to water down the fun parts of Fable 2 (trying to look angelic or evil), but it didn't fix the minor annoyances of the game, like lag and the 'golden trail' disappearing all the time. Also, while I love the dog, it still takes way too long for the stupid mutt to find exactly where it wants to dig. It's like waiting for your dog to poop so you can pick it up. Ugh.
Also, I finished the game in about a week, while still going on a majority of the quests (I ignore most of the ones that make your popularity go up like 1 point, doesn't seem worth it). While I didn't participate in any of the online challenges, I did complete quite a few, which makes it seem that they were way too easy to get, and the gameplay wasn't nearly long enough for a $60 game. In all, I was very disappointed. Play Fable 2 again instead.

I agree with the sentiments expressed here. After a while, the game becomes irritating. That Golden Trail is even more ridiculous! And there is Six Collection Achievements! SIX! 54 Keys,50 Weapons,50 Gnomes,30 Books,30 Flowers, and 100+ items of clothing. What the hell is with that? I only completed the Gnome one to get the last 40 Seals I needed. I have 805/1000G on it,and there is no incentive to get the rest. It would involve hours of repetitive combat, where enemies block most of your attacks, and endless wandering through the same environments. And for GODS SAKE WHY IS THERE NO 'REPAIR ALL' OPTION??? The PC edition has a repair all buttonn, but I did have to wait 6 months for it after the original supposed release date, which was even then after the XBox release.

I was on 10 hours earler today and I haven't taken the crown yet. But I admit I like to wander around a lot and do as many sidequests as possible. My character also has 4 housbands and 7 children (which I am now regretting as the firstborn now hates her).

It's a good game, but it's not a good FABLE game.
