Music Style Question.

I have a couple of question, can someone help me?

At one point in the pilot, the main character Henry, set out on the roof playing a tribal drum, we soon see a flash back with his godfather, where they are both playing a drum and music (almost chanting) plays.

Question 1: what type of drum are both characters playing?

Question 2: what style of music is this?

Question 3: is the music playing actually form the types of drums the characters are playing or has it been added, and the music herd is not produced by these types of drums.

Thanks for any help. I have been trying to find out this information, as I love the the music here, and the drum beet almost has a meditative quality. I would love to know where I can find music like this, or even were to find a drum like those.
