The episode tonight.. My review.

Really hit home for me in a major way. I'm 24. I have a drivers license. I'm terrified or driving though. So i have had my license since i was 18 and have still not driven by myself. So i def could sort of imagine what Henry was going through. Of course his had a dramatic reason behind it and mine is because of the gene's (have ocd that shows it's self in irrational fears). But i could def relate a bit.

I do think Jasper has way too lose of lips. Right when i saw that scene by the locker i knew Miles (i believe that was his name) was one of the bad guy's. I just knew Jasper was going to spill the beans. I loved the interaction between Maggie and Jasper in the trunk. Jasper talking to one of his best friends who is a girl that he seems to have feelings for about farting was hillarious to me. Then again it was a life threatening situation so i will give him a little benefit of the doubt when it came to that. lol. Loved the interaction in that scene though.

I loved Henry casually showing up when the elevator opened with the look on his face. That was great. lol.

Also the scene at the junkyard (or whatever that's called) was really interesting. I thought we had another bad guy when that dude came out of nowhere and crushed that one car that jasper, maggie, and henry were in. But nothing came of that. Was that just a worker and the kids were wrong that it was closed?

I loved the storyline with the one guy in the Dillinger case who ended up giving Jasper's dad that million dollar Mercedes. Can't recall the guy's name. Ed? It was really nice of Henry to bring that broken instrument to him.

I also have a hard time believing Jasper or Maggie wouldn't press charges for attempted murder. I know with tv shows we are supposed to suspend belief a little bit but that just seems a bit much. So in my mind im going to think they lied and did turn those kids in. But this is really the only problem i had with the episode and it's a minor one of course. So i'm hoping they did tell on the criminal students.

I of course loved the convo at the end between Jasper and Henry about the laptop. I was hoping that we got some details but realized it's still so early in the series that big secrets (maybe love interest that starts with a M) would not be revealed this soon. But when Jasper mentioned the word Love that's what jumped in my head. Shocking.

I did love how you ended it. With him about to tell his parents and then fading to black. Leaving the parents reaction up to the imagination of the viewers. I'm thinking we will never know the parents reaction but maybe we will get a casual not to there reaction. Not really expecting one and don't think it needs to be touched on. Just thought that was real interesting.

Next week looked really interesting as well.

thanks for the feedback.

i wrote the story for this episode around one singular visual idea: getting that smart car into the museum.

the jasper/maggie trunk scene: there was a minor struggle getting that past a network roadblock. not because it was a boy and a girl but because of the fart convo. to me it's the best "fun fact" of the season: that farts contain 4% oxygen -- and my favorite line of jasper's: "4% is better than nothing" (which is true, when you're suffocating). oh and btw, jasper and maggie will only turn in the stalkers if they don't hold up their end of the deal. they are not vindictive people or into retribution. the suffocation-thing really wasn't intentional on milo's part. he actually thought they were faking it even if that wasn't crystal clear to viewers.

the forklift dude at the wrecking yard was there due to location and production issues. we couldn't find the right crusher to fit what i'd originally written -- so that character had to be included. it doesn't make much sense, but yes the general idea is that the kids thought the yard was closed, but it wasn't.

and the parental revelation at the end does indeed come back in the season finale, however briefly ...

I really liked in this episode how Henry's kindness with the older man ended up saving the day for the school. Also how he decided to finally tell his parents. Great lessons for kids watching.
One question: can kids really go from learner's permit to driver's license that quickly?

Good question. I am 99% sure that the answer is "no" -- you can't get your license that quickly. you would need a lot more hours to bank before getting the actual license. but this is, after all, a fictional show ... i was wondering when someone would ask! mike werb (creator, unnatural history).
