Ugh! These voice talents! :-(

I'm fine with change and all but I'm sorry, the voice talents this time around just do not match the characters at all! It kind of killed the movie for me. Does anyone else agree?
And what is up with Batman's Bat ears? They got so small.
And Wonder Woman's costume seems to get duller as each movie goes along. Well, the bustier part anyway.

Cast Tom Welling & Erica Durance as Superman & Lois Lane in the new Superman movies!

The first person to mention Conroy dies.

What hate are you talking about? Hating people who can't accept any other Batman voices out there other than Conroy? Or those who can't accept any other Batman voices out there other than Conroy? I am sick of the Conroy fanboys.

Which characters didn't you feel matched the voices they were given?
Because really, you didn't exactly give any examples and I doubt that anyone would think all of them were bad.

reply

I thought the voices were fine, though it took a while to adjust to William Baldwin as Batman.

reply

Same here. I didn't really feel any of the voices were out of place, but William Baldwin as Batman took the longest to adjust to. Not because he was bad (quite the opposite) but because it took me a little while to determine how he was playing Batman's character.

After that, I kinda like it. He feels almost like a calmer and clearer version of Christian Bale's Batman.

reply

What stands out to me about William Baldwin's Batman is that he gave Batman a softer voice than previous voice actors of the last few years. I guess perhaps he underplayed it so as not to appear forced? Still, nothing wrong with a soft spoken, understated Batman.

The worst was James Woods as Owlman.

The best was Brian Bloom as Ultraman.

I agree. When I rented this I thought it was a continuation of the JLU series until I heard Batman's voice and saw Hal Jordan.

I didn't have any problems with any voice except Batman's. Baldwin just sucked. Especially after Conroy. I honestly don't remember enough about the other characters voices from JLU to even compare them, but I didn't think any were bad.

Someone else said it on these boards, and I agree, as long as Conroy can talk he should be Batman. I see a lot of guys on here saying change is good. Well, no, not really.

It's like when Mel Blanc died and all his characters were voiced by other voice actors. They sounded like cheap imitations of Blanc, which is exactly what they are. I remember as a kid being annoyed when Fred Flinstone's voice changed. Same goes for Optimus Prime.

I also remember how crappy Batman's voice was on the old Super Friends show from when I was growing up. Conroy's Batman was perfect. No reason to change it and of course fans are going to react negatively to the change. I still haven't heard why he wasn't in this as Batman.

I did think Woods was great as Owlman though. He was completely stoic and sinister. He was a perfect evil psychotic Batman. Such a cool character.

I for one, did NOT like James Woods at all. Honestly, I find his voice very, very annoying. If he never spoke again, I'd be alright with it.

Batman took some getting used to, and it's still a little straining for me to completely accept Baldwin's voice.

Mark Harmon sometimes sounded perfect, and other times I found myself only picturing LJ Gibbs from NCIS.

Lex was a little too soft spoken too, but I guess I can accept that because he's from an Alternate Universe...

The rest were fine though.

reply

Agreed, the only voices that were that of Flash's and J'onn, all the other were awful.

Batman sounded like he was about 80 years old
Superman sounded like a hick
Wonder Woman too young.
GL wasn't bad, but Adam Baldwin was a far better choice as HJ in the cameo in JL: The Once and Future Thing...

reply

gina torres as super woman was awful as well.i dont know if the character is supposed to white or not,but she wasnt black, but hearing a black womens voice come out just didnt sound right.

reply

Like I said, I didn't mind the other voices. I thought everyone except Batman was at least decent.

reply

Billy Baldwin was so beyond bad as Batman. I wasn't in love with all the voices of the other characters, though some were pretty good, but Baldwin was so bad that it made almost every other voice unbearable just by proximity.

reply

Gina Torres did screw up Supergirl. Her voice was cool and sexy, but the acting was terrible. My favs were:

Martian Manhunter
Owlman
Ultraman.

I'm still need to get used to The Flash.

Im the Alpha and the Omoxus.
The Omoxus and the Omega

reply

The only one that I didnt like was Mark Harmon as Superman. It was just inconsistent. Baldwin was fine, and compared to jeremy Sisto in New Frontier he was amazing.

The best however was Johnathan Adams as Jon

reply

I thought Supergirl had a great menacing voice.

reply

I was largely indifferent to the voice talent all around with the exception of James Woods....what the hell was that? It sounded like he did all his takes after getting punched in the nose and wadding kleenex up there....awful

James Woods was fantastic as Owlman. It wasn't SO bad. But Superman should have had George or Tim, that's for sure.
