Since those events were current at the airing, the injustices Oliver Stone feels come across as current frustration and sadness. It's hard to disagree with his contentions.
shareAlso, Reagan and Dubya never pretended to be anything but reactionary and rear-guard. Obama did, claiming a conscious intent to re-establish some fairness, so he placed the greater burden on himself. And then buckled under its weight. (Okay, yeah, there were Reasons, but even so ...)
Ideologically, the consequences of Obama's failure will be more profound, because he was supposed to be the thinking person's president, under whom reason and rationalism would reassert themselves. Obama paved the way for abhorrences like Trump.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
