Is Laura too revolting to be real?

I've just watched the second wedding episode, and Laura is foul. She's always been horrible, but I think maybe they've gone too far with her character. There's no way someone that vile wouldn't be getting a good telling before she got to this stage, surely.

I think that she is over the top. I, like everyone I suppose, have known a Laura-lite character. Someone who is so screwed up and insecure that they are aggressive and abusive to everyone around them. However, I don't think a person like her can be exist, surely. Is she ever nice?? Why would anyone like her??

Still, Kerry Howard, who comes across as a lovely, bubbly person, was fantastic as Laura and I bet she enjoyed playing her as well.

They wrote her character that way so that no one would like
her and everyone would get a kick out of how something bad
always ends up happening in spite of all her efforts to control.

reply

Yeah I get that she's the villain, but I thought it went a bit too far to be believable, is all.

I met Kerry Howard at a press screening of Him & Her, and she said she was so scared people would hate her because of how awful Laura is. She was really nice and sweet.

lol I can understand her being nervous. The character has a supremely punchable face (as I think steve said?) and she did it so well I can imagine some people taking it badly in real life.

People wouldn't put up with that *beep* in real life. She's garbage.
