Production Company left town without paying their bills

According to the Detroit Free Press, Mind in Motion Entertainment skipped town and left at least 25 vendors hanging. That's nice. Detroit is struggling enough as it is, and they twist the knife a little more.

Is this how they handle all their projects?

What a bunch of a-holes..... There's no excuse for this kind of behavior.

I, along with a couple of my friends were extras and of course we weren't paid.

The first day of shooting we were on set for about 14 hours, second week about the same amount of time and the last day I was on set, it was 8 hours (and they did use a lot of extras too).

I'm not putting any blame on the casting company that hired us but it does suck since they used our cars and like so many people, I'm unemployed and this was a chance to work.

On a brighter note, the catering company (which they used for the benefit concert scene) did hire one of the extras to a full time position. He started with them the next day.

I was just about to post that, hopefully this article will shed some light on what looks like a scummy company with dirty dealings (like offering all those local companies reduced payments).
