Well was this the remake of the 1970's movie? Or this stand alone?

Might be okay. But I tend to enjoy documentaries about Bigfoot creatures over fictional movies, especially when the creature kills people.

Yeah, they totally sold the original as a documentary based on factual events.

It's supposedly standalone. It takes place in a town called Boggy Creek, Texas rather than Fouke, Arkansas. But a Bigfoot movie titled "Boggy Creek"? I'm not buying that it's unintentional. It's got to be an homage at best, or an attempt to cash in on "The Legend of Boggy Creek" name at worst. I personally think of it as a sequel. I do like the film, though.
