WHOA! WORST MOVIE EVER MADE?

I'm a huge lover of zombie films, even the terrible ones. The worst movie I had ever seen is without a doubt Survival of the Dead... well it was the worst, until my girlfriend came across The Fat Boy Chronicles.

WHAT DID I JUST WATCH!?!?!?

I immediately came on IMDB to look it up and see what others were saying. To my surprise, there's a lack of posts about this movie. I expected to see a lot more flaming.

The Fat Boy Chronicles is without a doubt the worst movie I've ever seen and the fact that it was budgeted for $500,000 is BEYOND ME. $500,000 for this piece of crap?! Seriously?!

And now I'm reading "it's impacting students, parents, and teachers all across the nation."... sorry but that has to be b.s. Based on the story itself, and being a fat boy in middle and high school, I can tell you this story has no basis in the real world. School life for a fat kid is nothing like this movie portrays it.

Man, nevermind... I could keep ranting. Forget it.

What does this movie have to do with Zombie movies? Feels a little out of place to be talking about those movies.

I thought it was pretty decent. I'm in my late 50's and I was bullied some during my school days. I don't normally like high-school movies, but I could relate with this to some extent. There were a few flaws, such as Rivera's character charting his weight-loss for a week or so. He never really seemed to get much thinner, although he had set a goal of losing 30 lbs in a month. He wasn't that fat to begin with either. It's not like he was a tub of lard or anything. 187 lbs for someone 5'8" is at best, chubby. Also, not bad that he had a cute girl who liked him and would sit with him during lunch. Watching the church congregation continuously nodding their heads in unison during the sermon was a bit over-the-top. (Hey director, tell the extras to just sit still and look pensive!) And since when did 9th graders begin sharing gym class with seniors? That never happened when I was in school. Of course he's going to get bullied if he's forced to go to class with upperclassmen football players. Still, no movie's perfect. These were young, talented actors who did a fine job. I look forward to watching their careers progress, especially Washington, Rivera, and Cole (my personal favorites of the film.) I gave this a 6, and found it to be reasonably entertaining despite the few flaws.

I liked this movie.

I liked the movie. Perhaps it's because I'm empathetic and I've seen what bullying can do.
