What happened?

I don't know anything about writer/director Todd Rohal, I haven't seen any of his previous films. (Don't know if I want to after this one.) But it looks like he's been around a while, and he's obviously got some influence if he was able to

this fairly impressive comedic cast together.

I had zero expectations going into this, from the description it sounded like Patton Oswalt does Meatballs... so I figured it'd be worth some cheesy laughs. But I was blown away by how deeply unfunny this film was. I have no idea how you make guys like Oswalt, Rob Riggle, Patrice O'Neal & Johnny Knoxville so unfunny. Seems like as a director you could just roll camera, walk off set, and come up with funnier stuff than this.

I'm guessing there was a lot of behind-the-scenes drama, some untold story that may explain what happened. Anybody have any idea?

I still havent seen it but was looking forward to seeing it solely because ive been a big Patrice Oneal fan for years and seeing this was his last film and being with a solid cast i had high expectations for this too. I guess ill see it whenever it comes out on dvd.

saw it on Netflix.
I've only watched 20 minutes of it, but I don't think I want to finish it.
Pretty dull so far.

Yeah i eventually saw it on netflix and watched it in its entirity. A lot of the actors are talented/funny but theyre working with a terrible script. And its caught in the middle of being a kids movie and a adult comedy. It shouldve been one way or the other, go all out and be dirty or be family friendly.
