Worth seeing

I had this book laying around the house, and as a little experiment I plowed through it (it's a quick read) and then immediately watched the movie.

Night and day.

The book is embarrassingly bad, but the movie, while hardly brilliant, is fun and well-written. In fact, it manages to fix many of the book's innumerable problems. If you hated the book or never read it you might enjoy this. If you liked the book, well, I'm sorry our educational system failed you so thoroughly.
