This movie SUCKS at best

So I assume the message first of all, is that evil manipulative slime don't have to answer for what they do and being evil, selfish, and manipulative pays off in the end... Meanwhile being a good person and making one mistake in your entire life is unforgivable while simultaneously turning all the horrible people who did horrible things into self righteous saints.
Don't get me wrong, I know what Beth did was a big mistake, but they clearly set it up as if it destroyed her entire life. FYI you can retake the SATs and the fact that jealous Harper and the douche bag who was so in love with Beth screwed that up for her wasn't even discussed or considered by the douche bags who were apparently set up to be the "good guys" in the end?... well that pretty much says it all as for the theme of the movie.

The only good love story in this whole movie as far as story, characters, and chemistry goes, was between Beth and Reed and that was a disappointment in the end and left up to the imagination with "come find me in L.A when you get out".

And the affair, that stupid self righteous cop and Harper's dad's affair was the reason she got into the accident in the first place. In real life do you know how much GUILT there would be over that? But it wasn't even addressed. Instead, miss self-righteous cop decided to ruin a girl's life who is no threat to anyone as this was an isolated mistake, because it's her job. Which incidentally made the whole convo between her and her son pointless as it lead to nothing.

Oh and apparently it's cool for dads to turn in their daughters in when it's not necessary...

And what was with Beth's confession saying Harper was more popular and "prettier".... seriously? We have eyes first of all, Emma (Beth) is clearly much prettier than the chick who played Harper so much so that I actually laughed out loud when that comment was made, but alos the entire movie is set up where Beth is this perfect Barbie-like specimen that guys just fall in love with and Harper is the needy over looked friend who has to manipulate guys into a relationship... And it was so out of character for Beth to give a *beep* that Harper is popular. Beth wanted revenge because Harper was completely EVIL and MALICIOUS to her. Just some of the MANY inconsistencies and ridiculous randomness in this movie...

I also found it hilarious when what's his name (the friend who wanted beth) said to Adam "you haven't been understanding of Harper's intentions".... yeah, it's pretty clear where the writer stands. Something tells me he or she is an affair having, manipulative person who finds disgusting behavior justifiable and injustice to the people who don't deserve it, their own little slice of heaven; how they think/wish it should be. Or at least that's how this movie came across.... I haven't read the book, just going by the movie here.

As for the acting, the girl who played Harper did a shotty job. Her character went from evil b*tch to sympathetic straight back to evil b*tch sometimes in the same scene!! With absolutely NO emotional ladder.

Adam.... dear god, Adam... The guy who played Adam's acting was a JOKE. He had the same stupid look on his face and same dumbfounded tone in his voice from start to finish with no changes lol.

Kaia's acting was ok I guess, but it was nothing special. Adam's friend's acting was decent for bad writing. The cop's acting was bland and lacking at best. The dad was ok, but also a self righteous tool, though that's more his character than the acting and was pretty much the theme of this movie, self righteous tools win...

The only good acting was from Emma something who played Beth and the guy who played Reed, the teacher was pretty good but probably could have been better.

But yeah the only good acting in this movie was that of Beth and Reed (don't remember the actors' names). Mind you some of the side characters weren't bad, but only had like 5 second parts and some of their scenes were completely random.

I am just thoroughly pissed that I wasted over 3 hours of my life on this piece of crap. No more turning on lifetime when I'm having insomnia!!!!!!!!!!

Though I can say, the only thing that kept me intrigued was Beth's character due to her acting and the fact that I wanted to see her get justice, but that didn't happen... then with the second half or somewhere around there when she met reed, I saw real chemistry and a romantic relationship that reminded me of Rebecca Gayheart's romance in Jawbreaker, but they decided to brush off the only romantic, passionate and interesting romance in the film.

My final thoughts, Emma (Beth) is a gorgeous actress and apparently singer, the actor who played reed is pretty smokin' and the guy who played Adam's friend isn't too shabby either. Everyone else was just... eh..
Girl who played Harper is weird looking and the chick who played Kaia looks like an ugly anorexic version of Rachel Bilson.

Oh yeah and the teacher did not look young enough to pose as a student or have them ask how old he was over his looks.... nice job, casting...

Oh and one last thing (there is just too much to comment on! thus, it sucked) Harper's mom married her dad for money says Harper's dad, but then the mom complains about teaching their daughter bad values.... theme number 2 of this movie: INCONSISTENCY and chaotic randomness.
Oh I saw the themes they were trying to go for with every last desperate breath of this thing, and it was just a huge failing mess.

Had to vent after poisoning my brain with this pile of crap last night, now I'm good.
