Just saw the promo. They are promoting it as "back to basics"--more items, more stories. Maybe they actually read this board!

Idiot says 1932 Lionel train had Johnny Cash as "FIRST" owner. Idiot doesn't seem to realize that nobody buys a train the first year of their birth, and his parents were too poor to have purchased the train for him, and no parent buys a newborn a train.
The fact that JC bought the train at some point for his own son doesn't impress me. Who cares.
The hilarious thing is how the guy's girlfriend worked so hard to get in various camera shots as an extra during the episode. Her close-up occurs as she walks behind the Toy Shack guy at about the 12:15 mark on the History website video.
His interview with the New Jersey news website doesn't jibe with anything he said during the episode nor do his claims about the history of the train in the website interview make any sense regarding flood damage (no evidence that Cash's Tennessee home was ever damaged in a flood although it did burn down in 2007, well after Cash died in 2003); 1974 Johnny Cash concert appearances in Hagerstown, MD (no evidence Johnny Cash ever performed in Hagerstown in 1974).

You can read parts of the hand-written letter presented during the episode and the writer states that Tommy Cash said the train was in the family for many years; the train was damaged during flooding in the 1950's; and something about Johnny not wanting to part with the train because it was his first train.
The plaque on the train's case does read:

First Owner
Johnny Cash
Dec 1932
which implies it was given to J.R. Cash at Christmas time in 1932 when he was ten months old.
Finally, does white wide-ruled notebook paper qualify as train collector association letterhead?
PS BS continues unabated. It's a shame, because truth is often stranger than fiction, there is no need to embellish the truth. What bugs me is the whole "FIRST OWNED" assertion. Even if this 1932 train sat on a shelf at a toy store for a couple of years, it still wouldn't have been bought for toddler Johnny as it is well known his family was impoverished. The person who brought it in to the store had to have known this.
Oh, and Chumlee is as lazy, self-righteous, entitled, and obnoxious as ever.
Given that plaque on the front of the train's display case, you can be sure that this guy or some previous owner has touted this train as a toy from Johnny Cash's childhood despite the fact that his family wouldn't have been able to afford such a luxury. The seller has tried several times to get on the show.
Side note - Delbert David Cooperider aka Davey Deals has been trying to sell the 1972 Cadillac Eldorado featured on the same episode since at least February 2015.
