I can understand wanting to be a mother before you die. I can understand wanting to progress your DNA into a new life.
But to create a life not of your own DNA just so you can be in full control over it's DNA to avoid adoption just sounds wrong. If she was 30, I'd still think that is wrong. Very elitist.
I do know older parents who are good parents, and I can't say a 47 year old should be able to have a kid and a 57 shouldn't, but I'd think that's where the clinics come into play and say no to these people... go foster some kids and adopt. The clinics are partially responsible and so is this guy who took her call, to say I don't think our program is right for you and your situation, even if you look young. Your plastic surgery success is not our concern, thanks.
I'm sure a 57 yr old single women could do just fine raising a foster kid, but I wouldn't help her choose donors for eggs and sperm so she can start fresh, not even adopting a newborn fresh, but hand chosen DNA fresh. Too bad morals don't come with age.
There are tons of children out there that could use a mentor at the least. You don't even have to dive head first into adoption of an older child.
