they are so preachy and heavy handed in the delivery.

and the solutions are so short sighted.

if people are hungry just give them food right?
Well if someone is always falling off their bike, just keep passing out band aids right?

NO.... we need to solve the real problem, find out why people really are going hungry, fix the real source of the problem, slapping on band aids don't really help anyone, it helps some HIPPIE who made a documentary to sleep better, but does that really solve the problem? not even in the slightest!

It's addressing the implications of the throw-away culture. How is this not important?

The fossil fuels that go into producing this wasted food are finite. Obviously such a wasteful lifestyle can not continue indefinitely into the future.

No to mention the ethical paradox of the USA being the breadbasket of the world while so many less fortunate go hungry.
