Are modern teens...

Really that dull?

reply

Aren’t teens all dull? They are still learning and haven’t done much yet. What was so interesting about teens in the olden days?

reply

wow that is sad. i could probably write 3 or 5 full movies about my teen life. car races, fireworks, friendly competitions, girlfriends, makeouts, egging houses, malls, drug users, building forts, skinny dipping, tunnel treks, various school and music functions, visiting other schools, dj dances, and I could go on and on and on.

but we lacked brain draining internet, and helicopter parents, and most of what we did is probably illegal now, and it was back then too.

frieaking pussified snowflakes now..... "Waaaah give me my mindcraft back" hell, I still play a wide variety of video games (as well as motorcycle racing, sky diving, music writing, film making) but I'm not a dullard

I think teens are still doing those things, now you see it all on Tik Tok rather than in movies. Didn’t the ‘80s teen film bonanza kind of cover all those coming of age, risk binging stories? They even had a few films about nerds living their teens on computers (War Games, Weird Science).

reply

yes, it's been covered a lot alreay. but could they make a good movie FOR teens about teens doing stuff on tiktok?

reply

Why “they”? You have memories and experiences. Write them up as fiction in the Tik Tok era. 🍿🍿🍿

reply

because we're talking about modern teen dullness creating a lack of teen movies for these teens.

reply

Disprove it

Thanks for the shout out to Wargames! Loved that movie. Saw it with a packed audience in '83

a couple years ago, they did a one night WAR GAMES show in a local theater, and there was not one empty seat. it was one of the best movie experiences I have had in the last decade. everyone talking pre show, full theater laughing at the funny parts, a true, golden, theater experience. it was mostly "that age group" but some brought their kids too.

reply

MOST ADULTS ARE RATHER DULL THEMSELVES.🤔

reply

Yep. Just like teens always were.
