This show changed

This show used to show beautiful weddings with deserving brides. Many of the brides shown in early seasons are low income and therefore unable to afford anything they could imagine so David comes in and creates this amazing wedding on a budget they could never afford. For one of them the groom was a truck driver (my dad being a truck driver I know he couldn't afford to help me pay for a huge wedding like this), another the gold wedding woman was a special ed teacher, another one (the 50's Hollywood wedding) the woman was recently laid off.

The new season appears to be all weddings for woman that could afford it but just don't want to pay. I find it unwatchable. I stopped watching 5 minutes into the episode with the Burlesque Bride because she was just a bitch. "It's my day, burlesque is a part of me, I want to wear a latex gown, me me me." Well you know what, it is not just your day, it is your fiancés day too. Does he want you walking down the aisle in a red latex gown or does he want you to be a more traditional bride. I get that it is your life but that doesn't mean that he wants to alienate his family.

I'm sorry, but the average bride is not going to be that insane. Most of these women are unrealistic and personally I think the show has gone downhill. I liked watching the weddings where the women really deserved it and I just started crying because it was so beautiful. There was one episode where the bride got her dress at a yard sale and hated it because it was ugly and 4 sizes too small but she couldn't afford anything nicer. Well here she is crying that she hates her dress and David just tells her he will not let her walk down the aisle in that and she hugs him because she is so happy. That's what I want to see. I don't want to see slutty fake brides who think it is all about them. If I wanted to see that then I'd watch Bridezillas (which I don't watch)

They should go back to their old format because it was so much better and so much more watchable.

Welcome to "reality" television. I agree with you completely, and I saw the burlesque wedding you're talking about. I hated that bride. And it's gotten even worse now, because not only is it no longer about low-income brides and their fiancés who at least appreciated everything that David did for them, but it's all "reality" "celebrities" (and I debate the term, "celebrities," being used for people who are on "reality" shows) now and I just plain refuse to watch, and I've lost all respect for David for doing this kind of show. I used to LOVE watching the original series because he was always respectful of the brides, even if he disagreed with them. He'd try to find tactful and respectful ways of making them see that their vision isn't exactly the best, and perhaps they should trust him to make their ideas become reality but in a positive and beautiful way. But from what I've seen of recent commercials for this new show, he's no longer so respectful, but seems to come off almost b*tchy toward the brides when they go off. It just doesn't look like it is fun to watch anymore.
