is this a running satire of talkshows? making george lopez a genius??!

having watched this a couple times. it doesn’t make sense as a talk show. the jokes have no punchlines. lopez says ‘you got some ‘explain to do’ 6-10 times a show for some reason i can’t understand. the audience never laughs. yes, you ‘hear’ laughter. but they cut to the crowd & they are just weakly smiling. last night they had on a band that was so bad it was funny like a rock band out of central casting. then it hit me. could george lopez be satirizing talk shows? he must. anything else doesn’t make sense. it’s just so stupid.
