Lopez Tonight's ratings have plummeted to 500,000 viewers a night. His lead-in, Conan, is pulling in 1.1 million, which is less than what Lopez drew last January, when he held the earlier time slot.

You make some valid points but a nation that watches dreck like 16 and Pregnant and Jersey Shore doesn't seem to put much stock in a TV personality's morality.
If George had kissed the very ground his wife walked on and made nice in the late night clubhouse, would he still be here? I doubt it.
No one said George had to be an angel for him to benefit for his lead-in. I think his lead-in failed him.
