thoughts on Boon

My Boon question is why didn't Markham bring him in from the beginning?

Creepy as he was, he was not too creepy for Harlan, plus he seemed more competent than the the goofy trio of former army dudes.

That scene in the diner where he steals the hat is one of my favorite scenes in all of Justified.

I hated Boon and as much as I love the finale I think him being the final face off against Raylan was a huge waste of potential.

He was such a clown. I wish Raylan would have had an antagonist that we took seriously.

He was such a clown.

But still more competent tan the the trio of mercs

reply

I agree. He was so forced and unnecessary.

My thoughts on Boon are that he turned out about the best i could hope for when replacing Garret Dillahunt.

Excellent performance though and was used effectively with his screen time.

I always thought of him as some kind of offspring of Joseph Gordon Levitt and the guy who plays Ramsey Bolton (Iwan Rheon) on Game of Thrones, like if someone fused the two together.

Excellent character who should've had more time played with excellence by the very talented Jonathan Tucker, still think he should've been the one to take out Walker and Seabass, there's no better to introduce a great character than letting him taking out the loose ends.

But anyway, his opening scene with Loretta was priceless, as goofy as the character was, he felt like the first real threat to Raylan since Quarles, great choice for a final villain.

reply

Cut out all of the goofy crap and Boon would have felt like the first real threat since Quarles but considering his comic book demeanor he was pretty weak for a final villain.
