A Sequel Series Following Boyd And Ava's Son?

That would be pretty cool. Good writers could do alot with that scenario, I can throw out an idea right now tell me what you guys think. I'm no writer or anything, just a guy on a message board throwing out my thoughts but check this out...

Okay, the show starts out with things not turning out so well for Ava, as she's discovered by the authorities in California and extradited back to kentucky to face trial for her crimes, and little Crowder jr is sent to foster care in Harlan county. Ava is sentenced to a VERY long stretch and Crowder Jr. gets out of foster care at 18.

With no idea where he should go from here he goes to visit his mother in prison where she suggests that he get out of kentucky and go find a new life elsewhere, he refuses and asks her to tell him about his father. She reluctantly tells him and Jr goes to visit the man himself Boyd Crowder in prison. Of course at first Boyd doesn't believe its true but after jr drops details that no one else would know and Boyd sees a resemblance in the kids face he knows its true.

Next Boyd sends Jr to go see an old friend of his, this person turns out to be an adult Lorretta Mcready who now controls all the weed business in Harlan County and beyond. With her weed empire stretching from Kentucky to Tennessee to Virginia. He starts working for her and the story of the series will go from here.

You could throw an elderly and retired Raylan Givens in the mix, and maybe even have Raylans daughter involved too. What do yall think?

Honestly, I would hate that idea. The series ended with Boyd and Ava, "getting out" of Harlan alive with Ava fixing up her life and Boyd in prison (the safest place for him in my opinion). As great as Boyd is, we don't need to see more of the pair. If there's any miniseries or TV Movie, I'd hope it'd centre around Raylan's exploits outside of Harlan...with little involvement from past cast members (save for Winona for obvious reasons).

That would be pretty cool.

No.

What do you think is wrong with that scenario?

reply

I think a spin-off regarding Loretta and her newly acquired drug trade would have more potential than a story revolving around Boyd's son.

reply

You know that's a chance that's Raylan's kid.

reply

No it's not. Raylan and Ava never had sex in the final season. And it is obviously Boyd's kid - look how he's dressed! The creators even said so.

reply

Yeah, no thanks.

If they were truly going to do a spinoff (I hope they avoid this annoying trend) than I'd rather see one revolving around Wynn Duffy, Boyd in prison, A Tim spin-off or Raylan continuing his career in Florida.
