I didn't think the car accident needed any kind of resolution. It was what it was. Well, not sure which one you meant, but still, it's just a means to an end.
I think I know where folks are coming from, being disappointed with the ending of the movie, but I have a different take on it. I found it refreshing... I sure didn't see it coming, which says something. And I liked it.
It took this from being some kind of sci-fi "what is going on?" type of movie to a pretty direct examination of humanity, faith, love, etc.
Like I said, I didn't expect it, but somehow after seeing it all put together, it made a kind of sense that I liked.
I guess that's not everyone's cup of tea. Maybe knowing ahead of time the "tone" of the ending, it could be appreciated more by folks who were expecting a different kind of movie?
