Just back from the London Premiere...

And I loved it! What did other people think?

The animation was fantastic, and the over the top Britishness of Layton and Inspector Grotsky's lines certainly got lots of laughs from the audience - it was pretty surreal getting used to the Japanese voices after getting so used to the English game voice cast, but other then that, fantastic - especially the way the puzzles and music where integrated into the plot. And speaking of the plot, I was overwhelmed by the amazing amounts of pure bats**t insane plot twists, which I obviously couldn't have expected less off after playing the first two games. Look out for lots of great cameos too, I won't spoil them :D

The new characters look very interesting and fun - one of the faults of the film was being set after a game which hasn't been released in the UK as of yet, which, though isn't the film's fault as such, was slightly distracting. I'd like to know more about Remi, and Inspector Grotsky (sp?) was hilarious and had every member of the audience in stitches for every minute of screen time.

Although I'm not a massive fan of dubbing foreign films, this is one that I feel really needs an English voice cast, for pretty obvious reasons. As such, I'm looking forward to the Blu Ray and DVD release in September, and hope beyond hope that the game voice cast get the job.

I haven't seen it so I'm sorry I will skip over your post but I wanted to ask a question about this and I couldn't find anybody else who has seen it yet, and also I did not want to spoil it for myself.
I saw on Wikipedia that this movie is set after the fourth game in the series (which is a prequel to the first three) but this is not out in the UK until at least next year.

Does this movie spoil anything from that game? Also, does it share the dubbed voice actors with the game?

Thank you

I'll always have Torgo.

Sorry for the late reply - and don't worry about my first post, I didn't spoil anything.

The film has no spoilers, although some of the characters like Remi and the main villain haven't been introduced in the Western games yet, so their appearences are a bit random. And the showing I saw was in Japanese, and the voice actors were the same as the the ones in the Japanese games. I've heard when the film is released in the UK in October, it will be dubbed, but it hasn't been announced if the English voice actors will be doing it. I hope beyond hope that they will :D
