noises during concert

So in the middle of Seven Nation Army there are noises that sound like an electric keyboard or something. When I first heard the album I thought it was Jack playing with a keyboard off to the side...but in the documentary you can clearly see that he's not doing anything. Where are these noises coming from and why put them there? They also used it in I'm Slowly Turning into You. And at the end of the documentary trailer.

I think it's Jack tapping on the fretboard of his guitar, but I could be wrong.

actually it is the keyboard, if you look closely the tuners/head of the guitar is tapping the keys

It's jack leaning over and the end of his guitar tapping on the keys. He still had it set on the I'm Slowly Turning Into You setting, which makes it so when you touch one key, it runs through that cool note sounds for one note. He taps it twice.
