And "Oh my God" what a jackass this guy is to everyone he came in contact with!! I mean WOW!!! Even to his two little boys!.. Anyway don't want to ruin it for you but if you have questions. Ask away.. By the way, they did a great job with the cast. Most of them do look just like the real people.
It went on for months but she "never" met Chris at all. And Daddy dearest was having an affair with his coworker long before he met Jenn, it lasted until his arrest.
I don't recall off the top of my head the names used in the book for Chris/Marion, but I don't think they were these two names. Ann Rule often uses pseudonyms in her books (asterisks next to the people's names the first time they appear), so she possibly didn't use the woman's real name or the actual masculine name used online. In fact, I remember now that the woman's real last name WAS used, and it happened to be the same last name, or a very similar last name, as the dental student who died earlier in Bart's life, although they weren't related.
If Chris and Marion were made up names for the movie, they were poor choices because both of them can be unisex. And if the fact that they are unisex names was why they were chosen, then the Jenn character maybe should have at first been made to think that Marion was still a guy. And maybe the others who saw her communicating online with "Chris" could have thought it was short for Christine, if they didn't get a good look at what was being said.
Chris was used in the book. The real person (Can't remember her name without looking) is in the book too, her name and a photo of her. They said if Jenn would have met her, she would have freaked out because of the way she looked. She was a lot older and well she looked like a tiny witch if you will?.lol The part in the movie where she says something about her ex g/f wanted to play with guns while having sex was really about her. She had asked Jenn if she would hold a gun to her head if they had sex together. That spooked Jenn.
sort of sounds like the new movie "Catfish" that is showing in certain theaters....reading the summary of "Catfish" sounds creepy, and the internet can be a devious tool for whackos.
