Why is every movie trying to be 500 Days of Summer

It literally says so on the DVD box. Except Dan Radcliffe is too pale and awkward and not as cool as Gordon Joseph Levitt and Zoe Kazan is the blonder less quirky version of Zooey Deschanel. She actually looks a bit like a grown up Matilda (Mara Wilson).

This is an ok film, it is not as bad as it looks even though the plot is fairly predictable and not as witty as I had hoped. It has nice scenery of Dublin, Rafe Spall is actually a good character in it, there are generally nice visuals. There does seem to be a lot of chemistry between the two leads but it is not the worse I've seen. It could have been better if it tried to be its own movie instead of trying so hard to be another popular movie.

More than likely because 500 Days grossed 60 million off an 8 million dollar budget.

But what's this got to do with the CIO?

reply

... because it was a hit, and Hollywood doesn't care if ideas are similar, so long as they still make money.
