One thing I thought was weird is how he has no money, yet he gets in all these rideshares to get where he wants. How can he do that with no money? If you lurk your local Craigslist, it's usually expected to chip in for gas/driving on rideshares.

shareI don't think so. I would certainly take someone somewhere without gas money, if it's where I was already going. I would lose nothing, and gain a chance to meet someone truly and utterly random.

I believe the long trips were just for a second driver and company.
