Just watched Archer Vice. Help?!

Hey guys! Just started this show a few weeks ago off my brother recommendation and I'm LOVING it!!! This show is hilarious!!! It's better than most live action comedies anymore!!! I love these characters(and how petty they all are!). I'm really glad I gave this a shot!!!

However I just watched Season 5 Archer Vice and what the hell?! Why are they not spies anymore? What was the reason for that? Why are they all into dealing drugs all the sudden? Did the Writer's get bored of the spy stuff because that was a great backdrop for all the zany nonsense these characters get into!

Also in terms of the actual plot of Vice, I'm confused?! The Feds shut down ISIS in the beginning of the season but at the end Archer was in on it?? Did I miss something because I'm just really confused about the last few episodes?

Having said all that I didn't hate Vice. I actually found some of the episodes to be freaking hilarious but the shift in tone/story really threw me off! Any insight on this?

Also I'm about to start Season 6 so no spoilers beyond S5 yet please!!!

No, you got it: the Feds shut down the ISIS and now they are trying to make money selling cocaine.
No spoilers, but the next season goes sort of back to ISIS. So if you don't like Vice, it's only one season.

Or my isn't name...

Technically they were still "spies".

They were selling cocaine, and later weapons, for the C.I.A. to fund their "spy" operations and spend all of the C.I.A.'s budget to secure next years funding.

The only one that was in on it was Mallory, who also made the deal.
