Human Rights Watch strongly criticised this film

How extreme the propaganda and direct manipulation and lying is in this film is shown in the paradox of Human Right Watch strongly criticising this film.

In the film they end up delivering their "evidence" to Human Rights Watch, but in real life this is what Human Rights Watch commented: Anna Neistat of Human Rights Watch said that in the current political climate, the film is dangerous, as it uses selective exaggerations of Russian and South Ossetian wrongdoings, whilst totally ignoring Georgian wrongdoings against Ossetians. She further stated, that the film "portrays Russians and Ossetians as barbaric beasts and Georgians as peace angels."

The factual manipulation in this film is on hilerite level. I'm no fan of Putin or Russian imperialism, in fact I supported the Tjetjenia rebellion, but I'm no fan of USA or EU imperialism either. But for the facts: Georgia started the war, Georgia started the invasion of South Ossetia, in fact they captured South Ossetias capital before Russia intervened. Georgia carried out large civilian killings, several hundred civilians were killed by Georgia. There is no doubt that Russian troops were no angels and also killed civilians, but Georgia did to, and to a larger degree AND they were the ones that started the massacres.

Saakashvili was a aspiring dictator having brutally repressed pro-democracy demonstrations in the year before the war and having issued a state of emergency in order to close down the press and freedom of speech in order to destroy the opposition to his regime.

Last, but not least, the way they positively displays the Iraq war in the beginning really says it all. According to a report by The Lancet, the world largest medical review, the USA lead invasion of Iraq have cost more than 2 million civilians their lives. Much much much more than Russian intervention to defend South Ossetia. USA is the one country above all else waging most wars, invading most countries since the 2. World War, carrying out most military coup, funding dictatorships and killing most civilians through their endless wars all over the globe.
