that moment gave me the vibe that the servant is the killer? so what's up with that scene?

Exactly my thoughts, but 1. maybe thats just what the director/writer wanted us to think, or 2. it was showing that both capt hamilton and his servant had come to accept poe (he brought him a drink) either of those is really weak, so my final analysis is that it was a scene that should have hit the cutting room floor.
