I doubt that anyone could read all the threads on IMDB, but more than once I have read all of the threads on a movie before I posted anything. At the very least, someone could browse through the threads and read the titles before posting. Because otherwise, you wind up with a whole bunch of threads about the same topic, which makes the board so cluttered that reading the threads becomes more difficult. People not reading the threads is exactly why reading the threads has become such a pain. I'm pretty sure IMDB doesn't have a prize for the poster who creates the most number of redundant threads.

Every time someone starts a brand new thread on a topic that has already been discussed, the creator of that thread is in essence saying that his time matters more than other people's and that people who have already discussed the subject should recreate their discussion under his thread so that he doesn't have to take the trouble of reading what has already been written about it.

And I'm not sure why anyone should be willing to go to so much trouble for someone who isn't even interested enough in the movie to read a little discussion about it. If you have so little interest in the movie in the first place, why are you even posting about it? Especially when the matter being repeatedly brought up is as trivial as whether or not someone should have had a goatee.
