How big is this film's budget going to be?

I can't figure out if this is going to be a big blockbuster or more of an indie project. Michelle Williams said in a fairly recent interview that she doesn't like blockbusters and likes to think she wouldn't do another one (I suppose the last one she did was Brokeback Mountain as pretty much all of her other films have been indie), so I get the sense this is not a blockbuster if Michelle Williams is going to be involved. Also, Michael Gracey has never directed a movie before. I somehow can't see a studio granting a large budget on a film that is already risky due to its subject matter and the fact that it's a musical when the director is almost completely unknown to the general public with no movie directing experience. Directing a couple of commercials is not even close to directing a movie. I'm sure he'll be good but are studios really okay with spending heaps of money to find out just because Hugh Jackman is going to be in it?

I feel this may be an indie like film.

Well, directors have to start somewhere. Steven Spielberg was an unknown at one time.

Michael Gracey has worked with Hugh Jackman before. Remember that very catchy and popular Lipton Tea ad featuring Jackman?

Here is a Behind-the-scenes clip...and you can see Michael in his ubiquitous headgear. It may be just a microcosm, but it involves dance, music and spectacle!
