100 years later and nothing has changed

2 agents trying to find and stop anarchist (terrorists) from sending explosive packages to those in power, those who own and run the industries.
They (Anarchist) want to be treated with respect, an honest days pay for an honest days work. Immigrants, legally, coming to America in pursuit of the American dream. Leaving behind their archaic
countries still stuck in the past with classes, kings, queens, and society.
America gives them opportunities, opportunities to be slaves to the industry owners. The power players (the industry leaders such as Rockefeller) deal with dissent by using their government connections to squash talk of dissent or strikes.
Similar to McCarthyism in the 50's, those in power, either with fanatical beliefs or out of misguided ideology looked to push their agenda despite what was best for the people.
In the end the Dept of Labor stepped in to nullify the mass deportations of immigrants obtained by the fascists attorney general and j. Edgar Hoover.
The final scene depicts the very first terrorist strike on the USA (so said) at a JP Morgan Bank.

I seen a lot of parallels in this movie to the troubles of today.
Anarchism to fascism, nazism, communism, socialism, to capitlism. It's all about those that have trying to have more at the expense of others. How much is enough?
David Strathairn gave an honest performance of an agent who believes in justice and for what is right.
Well worth a viewing.

I retired a couple of years ago in my mid forties. I owe my Union a lot. When my grandparents came here in 1928, they cleaned homes & welded ships. A lot HAD changed, The New Deal, Worker's Compensation, OSHA. My grandparents, Parents retired with good Pensions. My eldest children in their 20's have good jobs and benefits, but my Tweens will have to get creative! Instead of The Rockerfellers of America, we have to deal with Corporations. The Pendulum Always Swings Back! GOD BLESS AMERICA ??

*NEVERMIND*

I don't believe it's entirely accurate to say that "nothing has changed," but Magpie is correct that the pendulum is currently swinging in a very bad arc.

I shook my head at the workers in the movie asking for three cents more per hour. Which made me consider **Everyday Low Prices** and the people I know who have worked there for years, permanently scheduled at just under the number of hours per week which would legally entitle them to benefits.

I used to eat Ben & Jerry's with a happy heart knowing their policy was "no one in the company, including the owners, earns more than [30? 40?] times what the lowest paid worker earns." That's all a distant memory now; even disgraced CEOs expect to walk away with compensation packages worth tens of millions.

In this movie, the wealthy industrialists directed the politicians as though they were on the payroll, which essentially they were.

Be careful how you vote in 2016.
