The only thing that bugged me about Shelby's mom was when she said something along the lines of "If you don't go to college, you'll end up working as a cashier at a fast food or a convient store." Heck that is sometimes the only thing a person can get.

I have an AA degree and I work as a cashier at a market! So what, I have bills to pay! Plus the place I work they treat us like we are a family! So why would I leave?

you thought she was nice? what was nice about her? she snarked the whole show away, then pulled shelby out to the car and swore never to put her in a pageant again. she was crying, shelby seemed pretty happy and obvlivious to her.
she should never have entered shelby, she didn't know a thing about pageants.
she didn't know how the kids dress, wear makeup, etc. she was doing shelby's hair while they sat on the floor.
why didn't she see how the other kids were dressed and made up before the pageant started and take shelby home?
I don't like how she said she was doing it for Shelby to go to college! News flash! Put the money that you spend on pageants and put in in a college fund for your daughter!

Yeah, and so do all the other parents, except one. You should've thought about that before you decided to take part in the freak parade. How about working on your own appearance? I couldn't stand her. I hope she keeps her word about it being Shelby's last pageant.
