This is probably NOT the best Monkey Island...
I've just played the demo of the new Monkey Island: It's actually quite good I'm surprised. The best one yet maybe [EDIT: Since buying the game the dialogue and story go downhill.] Moved enough to post on imdb anyway. I'll be buying it I think. I have high standards when it comes to films and games: Most games have bad dialogue and terrible stories. This however seems to be a big improvement. It's actually "okay" -- at least the demo is.
To clarify:
My top five films/TV: 1. Six Feet Under season 1, specifically if I had to choose the Pilot episode.
2. Sopranos season 1.
3. Juno.
4. The Wire season 1
5. 12 Monkeys.
Just so you know I have nothing against animation Ratatouille is somewhere in my top 20 favorite films list.
I tend to rate the dialogue and story in most games 1 / 10, sometimes 1.5 / 10. The acting quality is almost always good. The quality of the gameplay and music is also almost always good.
I'm comparing the games to films, I'm not suddenly lowering my standards for computer games. The games must have voice actors in them. I haven't played the new re-release of Monkey Island 1 yet.
