Very clunky. The director approached Michael C. Hall with this project through a friend from Michael's NYU days. 99% of the time that's the wrong way to take up a movie.

If you don;t like movies based on the odd characters that populate the lives of many, then this movie is not for you. It gave a message about the coming of age of a man stunted in his growth by his mother's premature death. His father was loving and cared for his son and it showed.

I found it very interesting and a real character study of those not in the mainstream. NYC is full of those types.

The only one who I felt didn't belong was Lucy Liu's character.

some people come of age at around 13.. some around 35..
This guy was finally motivated to do something.

Bunch of odd characters...
but they all grew on me...

I enjoyed it.
