had fun, why was anthony wong wearing mascara ?

Cool movie, but anthony wongs outfits were highly questionable, I couldn't tell if he was supposed to be gay or straight ? Are there straight triads who dress like this to be punk or something ? I guess coming from America it's just a bit strange. It had all the main charactaristics of a great asian gangster film though, loyalty, betrayal, brotherhood, violence, shared sacrifice. I just can't get over the weird ass costumes and haircuts.
