Also I didn't see the Silver Surfer in this movie anywhere. The Sorcerer Supreme made a short appearance in the very beginning though.

I wish the creator of this movie added had not replaced the silver surfer with Beta Ray Bill. I guess there maybe a B.R.B feature film in the near future?

There is coming a new Thor movie in 2011. Although it's not gonna feature Beta Ray Bill, I predict, there will be Thor-based animated films following (Like they did with Hulk, Wolverine and others) - which in fact could feature Beta Ray Bill.

Also I did not know that the original comic had Silver Surfer instead of Beta Ray. Thanks for the info :-)

I hope the new Thor film Kicks Major arse!
Pickup the Planet hulk and world War Hulk trades. they're pretty cheap for such great stories. The surfer appeared in one issue and returned to sakaar in the Son of hulk comic. It dealt with Galactus, so you know it had a bad ending.

They did not get permission to use the Silver Surfer, do a little research b4 you start bashing. They wanted to. They could not, so they used someone who they thought was just as powerful.

They probably don't own and couldn't get the rights to use the Surfer. Either that or they didn't have the budget to animate the Surfer's story of how he ended up there.

This is what i heard, they dont have the rights to Silver Surfer (probably with Fox) so instead of losing a fight, they substitute him with BRB. Pretty decent swapout in my opinion.

I hear you peeps. The fight with BRB was a total slugfest :)
I just wanted to see an animated Silver Surfer to replace my memory of the cartoon On FOX years ago...come to think of it BRB was in the program also.

I feel your frustration in this one. But i can understand if they couldnt get the rights to use the surfer putting BRB in there. but still i was so crushed when i didnt get to see the Silver Gladiator. That would have been EPIC!!

I was upset too, I was looking forward to it (but surprised the whole time about how much stuff they were mashing together and how fast it was moving), until I realized that Fox owns the Silver Surfer along with the Fantastic Four.

As long as Fox keeps making movies with those properties (I'm not sure how often they have to do it, but they're doing a FF reboot soon, and planning a Surfer movie) they retain the rights.

Marvel owns the newer stuff, since they're doing it themselves (Marvel Knights). Iron Man, Punisher, Thor, Captain America, Avengers, Hulk...

It's the same reason why they couldn't use The Kingpin in Spider-Man (Sony); DareDevil already took him (Fox / New Regency)

yeah this was the only thing that really bothered me for a while in this movie. but if it's going to be the exact same you might as well just read the comic, right?

Actually, I'm kinda glad they used BRB instead of the Silver Surfer cuz I'd rather see BRB get pummeled by the Hulk instead of the Surfmeister. 8D

What i dont get is how the power inhibiters worked on a being of the power level of SS or BRB. They are serious cosmic entities.

they shouldn't have been able to subdue hulk or pierce his flesh to implant him with a power inhibitor either but because they passed through the portal to get to the planet they were severely weakened for a time.

I guess they had to cook up something that would halfway explain why SS or BRB couldn't just kick the crap out of their captors. Otherwise they probably would have no movie or book. Could have been done better.

I know I was a little upset that Surfer wasn't in it but the developers of the film had legal reasons why they had to swap Surer out.
