Hulk talks?
Okay so, I'm enough of a hulk fan to know that he is a uncontrollable rage filled beast who smashes things.
Can someone just explain to me why the hulk in this movie is talking like a normal person?
The hulk has had several different personalities over the years, the one from the movie is called 'the green scar'. the one most people are familiar with is called 'the savage hulk'.
From Hulk wiki:
Savage Hulk - The Savage Hulk is the most common version of the Hulk through it possesses the mental capacity and temperament of a young child and typically refers to himself in the third person.
Green Scar - The current hulk has the intelligence of banner the cunning of the gray hulk and strength of the savage hulk his base strength is way over 100 tons. The Hulk of World War Hulk is a cunning and more powerful version than the previous incarnations.

I thought this was just suppose to be the regular old hulk we've all come to know and love, and they decided to make him talk perfectly just because it was convenient lol.
well, here's another reason. Banner was able to control the change from banner to hulk, and as hulk, banner is still there to think and talk. he doesn't change into a mindless beast as he was a long time ago. he has "changed" just as an infant changed into a growing human being.
as for the new hulk, he's more intelligent, and can outsmart anyone, even with brute strength. so combine with brute and brains, also with the madder he gets, the stronger he becomes, he can be unstoppable. Not even the world's best heroes can even stop him alone. he's too powerful. he nearly destroyed a city too.
what I liked about World War Hulk, he returned to earth with an agenda. to destroy the four men who blasted the Hulk into space, Black bolt, Mr. Fantastic, Iron Man, and the Sorceror Sepreme. he's also fed up with everone on earth and was willing to take on anyone, even his cousin, Jen Walters, the She-Hulk. This is by far, the best story I've ever read from the Hulk. the other best was Superman/Doomsday comic version. the death of Superman got everyone riled up in the DC comic.
I watched the movie again and they did clue in how hulk can talk. at the beginning, the hulk was shot with a disc on him, and the guard said the talk bot should be in his system already so the hulk should be able to understand him. perhaps it's that technology that made the hulk intelligent and talks like everyone else. but he still has his hulk smash which was fun to see.
I like this Hulk. he's got the brain, and the power of the Hulk, which would really make him.... unbeatable.
That disk was purely to understand their alien language. The Hulk was as intelligent/comprehensive on Earth. He was just deemed too dangerous by the illuminati (Iron man & Co.) It's better explained in the comics, very good read btw.

Well, if you look at the recent Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy vs Thanos series, Hulk seems dumb again, though capable of putting together sentence fragments. It's just inconsistent writing by the writers.
