most people would be fed up with puppets cursing, having sex, committing acts of violence, portraying stereotypes, and doing other "edgy" stuff. I'm not a puritan, but it's getting really old.

Jeff's puppets don't do any of those things you describe.
He's funny.....on his tours and specials...just not too much on this show.

Damn. If you two are what watch puppet shows then I'm glad I never watched them or I would have turned into the biggest bitch on the block!
I have a sense of humor thank you - a warped sense of humor that gets me in trouble sometimes.
I haven't been rude or nasty to anybody here so why do I get rude comments because I never watched puppet TV shows!
Like I said not everybody has the same opinion on shows or what they think is funny - no need to get huffy because your opinion isn't shared.
You've listed about a dozen shows/movies over the past 15 years or so. It's a fairly small sub-genre... It seems a little too small to be complaining about in such a manner...
And while I love Wonder Showzen and Meet the Feebles, I don't know many people who've heard of them... and I haven't heard of a handful of the shows you mentioned either...
On another note: every show/movie I know on that list was way better than Jeff Dunham...

I can't believe that anyone knows about Let My Puppets Come....saw it in early 90's with some friends as a good. Holy crap, that is one terrible movie. It was just plain awful.

Jeff's act was charming the first time I saw it. It was new to me at the time. A lot of the humor is forced, clearly, but he can be genuinely funny at times.
Or, could be genuinely funny.
It's kind of like Dane Cook. He was funny when he was different. Now that he's mainstream, you're so used to his act that you realize that he really isn't funny anymore.

I recorded the 3rd episode and half watched it before I deleted it. I'm just not liking this show like I was at first. I'm disappointed with the skits and how he's making them seem like real people and it's not working. Having Bubba J take the citzenship test for Achmed and all the answers were BEER...oh geez.

I'll just take an excerpt from a post I made over on SA recently.
I found Dunham's act to be more charming than funny at first. I mean, when you look at some of his puppets, they're designed to be very expressive. His first special was something that I didn't expect, and I was certainly amused.
Unfortunately, as time went on and he gained popularity, it became clear that he really didn't care about being funny. The Christmas special was the most unfunny comedy special I've seen on TV, and I've seen Carlos Mencia do stand up.
Jeff is making money on a market almost no one else has tapped. I can't hate the guy for feeding his family, but that doesn't mean I have to like the show.
