It will be interesting to see how this comes out.

I love his act, but how much can they do?

Comedy Central has a long track record of shows that don't last very long. Some of these shows I really liked, but either most of the country did not or the comedy was quite limited. It's a miracle if a show can reach 100 episodes.

Although Reno 911 has been cancelled, it by far is one of the longesst running shows with 88 episodes. Of course South Park does not apply....But let me name a few:

-Viva Variety
-Bob and Margaret
-Dr. Katz
-That's My Bush
-Strip Mall
-Strangers with Candy
-Stella
-Chappelle Show
-Too Late with Adam Carolla
-Lil Bush
-Mind of Mencia
-Chocolate News
-Reality Bites Back
-Sarah Silverman Program

Will go soon:

-Michael and Michael Have Issues (Tried to like it, but not consistently funny.)
-Important Things w/ Demitri Martin (I like this show)
-Tosh.0 (I like this show, but I get bored quickly and I predict so will the viewing public)

I'm afraid Jeff's show will end up among the pile of dumped shows.

You know I feel it in my beat. It may feel old to you, but to me it feels new.

Yeah but give the guy a chance. I love Achmed the dead terrorist!

I KILL YOU!

reply

Oh I am. I watched the show and I really liked it. I'm just wondering how they are going to be able to keep it fresh.

The Sarah Silverman Program is still going. Shooting of new episodes has wrapped and will be airing in the beginning of 2010. Dr. Katz lasted 6 seasons with 81 episodes which isn't bad at all compared to most Comedy Central series. And I don't think you can really dump Chappelle's Show in with those others, as Dave left the show, it didn't get "dumped". Also, I can't find anything official that says Mind Of Mencia is cancelled, nor anything saying it's still on. The only thing I found is Wikipedia shows it lasting from 2005-Present. And you left one of the most horrible of Comedy Central's short running shows off of your list: Kid Notorious.

As for shows that will go soon, you're right, this will probably be one of them. But one that you forgot and I hope goes before this one is Secret Girlfriend. In my opinion Secret Girlfriend ties Kid Notorious for worst Comedy Central show of all time.

reply

Good, because

I liked the S.S.P. Some episodes are stupid and some are funny. I loved the episode where she finds her dad - The Loebtrotters..

You're right about Dr. Katz. I loved that show.

Yeah, since Dave left, we'll never know. I thought it was hilarious had a lot of staying power. I saw Dave live at a small college campus before he really blew up right after "Half Baked."

I read online on several sites the M.O.M. was cancelled. It's ok, but I don't really care for it.

I don't remember Kid Notorious, but yes, Secret Girlfriend is retarded and should be canned. I have a feeling it will because those dudes are irritating and repulsive, but never underestimate the power of half naked women on TV.

You know I feel it in my beat. It may feel old to you, but to me it feels new.

Muscle Queen, if you didn't see Kid Notorious then you are lucky. I don't know who came up with the idea. It was a cartoon that starred Robert Evans. If you don't know who he is, he's a Hollywood producer best known for The Godfather, Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby, Love Story, and several others. The guy has no comedic value at all. At the time he was riding high on the success of his very serious bio-book that had recently been made into a documentary narrarated by him. It's basically the story of too much success, failed marriages, and substance abuse. So the guy isn't really comedy gold, and since he looks like a walking zombie (seriously look at the picture I'm going to post below) he couldn't show his face on camera. So some genius came up with the idea of taking this very serious 70 year old man, with a voice that sounds like he's drunk and or dying, and create an animated comedy show that's based on him. But basically his character was a Producer/Secret Agent, who hangs out with Slash from Guns 'N Roses (actually voiced by Slash) who has various adventures. Needless to say it only lasted for 3 months, airing 9 episodes.

Take a look at this picture of Mr. Evans, it's hideous and undoctored, his skin really looks like that. I don't know if it's too much sun or if he wears makeup to cover up something else, but he looks like a walking corpse.

OMG!!! That is horridly tragic. How could anyone leave the house looking like that? That's awful.

-Tosh.0 (I like this show, but I get bored quickly and I predict so will the viewing public)
