Sounds like a family film for John Waters fans
At least that was what I thought based on the synopsis I read...
"Ma'am, we didn't find any boy."
"Then he's still there..."

No. Don't think this is a family film for a second. It's more like the female Napoleon Dynamite, except with more raw emotions, cursing, and controversial subject matter. And more melodrama.
It's not for everybody though, but I do recommend it to those that like Welcome to The Dollhouse and Palindromes.
If you know about John Waters films you'd get what the OP was saying. I don't think the OP was saying your average family would watch this. This movie is obviously not a family friendly film and even though the actors were mostly kids I think this film was more so for young adults and edgier teens.
shareExactly. Everyone keeps saying Napoleon Dynamite and I was thinking John Waters the whole time.
