Original Director

I wondered the same thing. I did a little digging on line, and the only thing I could find was a mention of it in an article about the movie that stated that there was conflict between the original director Johnson, and the producers, the children of the writer of the script, who also ex-produced the film.

Don't ask me where I found this, I followed a lot of links and pages, and that was two or three years ago.
